Position Overview:

The Healthcare Service Coordinator plays a pivotal role in collaborating with clinical teams to ensure patients receive exceptional care and service. By working alongside healthcare professionals, the Coordinator supports both referring physicians and patients effectively. This role involves managing appointment scheduling, verifying insurance details, and addressing various support needs within the clinic.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome patients with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Conduct outbound communications to current and past patients for scheduling follow-up evaluations and consultations
  • Gather patient intake documentation and maintain accurate patient records
  • Organize and confirm patient appointments
  • Perform benefit verifications and obtain necessary authorizations for insurance
  • Provide initial support to patients, addressing inquiries, managing check-ins/outs, and processing payments
  • Assist with repairs under the guidance of a licensed Hearing Care Professional
  • Prepare financial deposits and submit daily reports to the finance department
  • Possess general sales knowledge for accessories and patient support
  • Process patient orders, manage incoming orders, and verify pickups
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment and instruments
  • Submit requests for equipment and facility needs
  • Perform general office tasks, including cleaning duties
  • Oversee inventory management, monitor stock levels, and place supply orders as necessary
  • Assist in planning and coordinating at least one community outreach event monthly
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree preferred
Industry Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with hearing aids is advantageous
Skills and Competencies:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to build relationships with patients, physicians, and clinical staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems is a plus
Experience:
  • Preferred 2+ years in a healthcare setting
  • Previous customer service experience is essential
