Job Summary

Arizona Autism Charter Schools, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Behavior Specialist to join our team. As a Behavior Specialist, you will work closely with students on the autism spectrum, utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies to support their growth and development.

This is a school-year position with opportunities to work during summer break. We offer a supportive and collaborative work environment, with opportunities for professional development and career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement ABA strategies to support students' academic and behavioral goals
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized behavior plans
  • Provide training and support to paraprofessionals on ABA techniques and strategies
  • Assist with classroom planning and preparation, including developing and implementing lesson plans
  • Monitor and record student progress, making adjustments to behavior plans as needed

Requirements:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a classroom setting
  • Strong understanding of behavioral characteristics associated with autism and other behavior issues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle emotionally charged situations
