Job Summary:

As an MRI Technologist at Ochsner Health System, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining a safe MRI environment, assessing patients, and performing routine MRI procedures in accordance with prescribed safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT registration as an MR technologist, or equivalent
6 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced certification in MRI required by an organization recognized by the ACR Registry
Clinical MRI experience

Work Environment:

Works in a patient care area
Works in an area where patients enter
Works directly with patients
May be exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue

Physical Demands:

Very Heavy Work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
