Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient MRI environment, assessing patients, and performing routine MRI procedures in accordance with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Operate MRI equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory management and staff scheduling
  • Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of patients, including respect for privacy and effective communication
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT registration as an MR technologist, or equivalent
  • 6 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience
  • Advanced certification in MRI required within two years of employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical MRI experience
  • Advanced certification in MRI
Working Conditions

The incumbent works in a patient care area, exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste.
