The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in the daily operations of our residential properties, working closely with the Property Manager to ensure seamless management of all aspects of building operations. This position requires a team player with excellent interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills, who can effectively communicate with residents, staff, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Property Manager in managing daily building operations, including office management, administrative tasks, and responding to resident inquiries and concerns.
- Use Yardi to print reports and enter re-certification information, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
- Create and maintain tenant files, applicant waiting lists, and transfer lists, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Assist with paperwork for housing applications, rent collection, and other administrative tasks.
- Assist with bank deposits, processing applications, move-ins, move-outs, and certifications, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
- Compile and complete tenant information for monthly and annual summary reports, such as Vacancy Report, PSR, and other reports, under the supervision of the Property Manager.
- Manage the building when the Property Manager is off-site, ensuring continuity of operations and resident satisfaction.
- Pleasant and professional manner with a calm disposition, able to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment in problem-solving, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adjust to changing situations and work under pressure, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Yardi Voyage or other property management software.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, with two years of prior experience in residential property management, detail-oriented with experience processing paperwork, and sensitivity to issues facing low-income, disabled, and elderly populations.
- Familiarity with low-income/affordable residential property management, prior experience with YARDI Voyager, and experience in Affordable Housing.
- Bilingual preferred but not required, prior experience with Recertification and vacancy processing.
As of January 4th, 2022, all Chinatown Community Development Center employees are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. All new hires must show proof of vaccination status at the time of employment offer. Exemptions will be made for applicants with a valid medical reason or a sincerely held religious belief and must be submitted within a timely requested manner. Additional documentation may be required by CCDC if exemption is approved.
