Job Summary

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of school facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff. This role involves performing a variety of tasks, including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs, to keep the school in a state of operating excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized school environment, including classrooms, hallways, and common areas.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs, including fixing leaky faucets and replacing light bulbs.
  • Operate and maintain various equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
  • Assist with special events and projects, such as setup and cleanup for school events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning and maintenance procedures.
Working Conditions

The Custodian will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The position requires standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods. The Custodian will be exposed to various chemicals and cleaning products, and will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed.
