About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at Tufts Medicine. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Food Service Operations: Assist with food preparation, delivery, and sanitation in accordance with hospital standards and regulations.
  2. Patient Interaction: Elicit patient information regarding food preferences, intolerances, and dietary needs. Communicate with patients to ensure accurate and updated diet order information.
  3. Menu Selection and Tray Management: Assist patients with menu selection and write and correct regular and modified diets for patients. Maintain high accuracy and appropriateness of patient trays.
  4. Stock Management: Stock nursing unit pantries with nourishments and dietary supplies, utilizing a first-in, first-out system.
  5. Sanitation and Safety: Follow all precautions on patient units by donning and doffing PPE appropriately. Perform hand hygiene according to standards.
Requirements
  1. Food Service Experience: Minimum one year of experience in food service, preferably in a hospital setting.
  2. Education and Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with therapeutic diets and sterile food handling techniques.
  3. Skills and Abilities: Ability to read, write, and understand written instructions. Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients, patient care team, and employees. Ability to operate simple mechanical devices and use a knife for slicing, cutting, and dicing.
