Key Responsibilities
- Support clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. This encompasses aiding clients with mobility challenges to transition in and out of bed or a wheelchair, as well as assisting with exercises or rehabilitation.
- Ensure clients adhere to their medication schedules as prescribed by healthcare professionals. This may involve helping clients organize their medications and setting reminders for administration.
- Observe clients' overall health and communicate any changes to the healthcare team. This includes monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, as well as being vigilant for signs of distress or discomfort.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties and meal preparation. This may involve tidying up clients' living spaces and preparing meals and snacks tailored to their dietary requirements.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients. This may include engaging in conversation, reading, or participating in activities that enhance their quality of life.
Required Qualifications
- Current certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) from an accredited program, in good standing.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as travel to various clients' homes may be necessary.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to the care plan established by the healthcare team.
- Capability to perform physical tasks associated with the role, including assisting clients with mobility and light housekeeping duties.
