Job Title: Pool Lifeguard

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced lifeguard to join our team. As a Pool Lifeguard, you will be responsible for maintaining surveillance and enforcing pool regulations to ensure the safety of pool patrons. You will also serve as a head lifeguard, leading part-time and temporary lifeguards, and administering First Aid and CPR as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day pool operations and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Monitor activities in and near the water and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Assist in the administration of First Aid and CPR as required.
  • Lead and train part-time and temporary lifeguards.
  • Conduct safety orientations and administer swim tests.
  • Clean and maintain pool equipment, pool deck, and surrounding areas.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including safety checks and inspections.
  • Document and report incidents and accidents.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a lifeguard.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
  • Ability to pass a swim test and maintain current certifications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aquatics programming and events.
  • Lifeguard Instructor Certification (LGI) and/or Water Safety Instructor Certification (WSI).
  • Supervisory experience.
Working Conditions

The Pool Lifeguard will work in a fast-paced environment, responding to emergencies and maintaining the safety of pool patrons. The position requires the ability to work in a team environment, communicate effectively, and maintain a high level of physical fitness.
