Job Summary

Exotic Automation & Supply is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for conducting analysis of manufacturability for customer projects based on tools/molds needs, labor time, material, and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate Quotations: Develop and present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information based on format for customer submission.
  • Assist with Product Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product designs are feasible for manufacturing.
  • Support Tooling Needs: Provide recommendations for tooling requirements and support the development of tooling designs.
  • Support Manufacturing: Assist with launch, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing processes.
  • Compute Costs: Analyze labor, material, and time requirements to compute costs and input data into the business system.
  • Resolve Discrepancies: Collect and analyze information to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate quotations.
  • Prepare Estimates: Prepare, document, and follow up on part and tool estimates/quotes within time constraints.
  • Fact Gathering: Gather information to determine pricing and maintain cost databases and sourcing vendors.
  • Generate Blueprints: Create blueprints/drawings on an as needed basis using SolidWorks.
  • Technical Presentations: Prepare, conduct, and/or assist in technical presentations to customers.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
  • APQP Initiatives: Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Supplier Interactions: Interact with suppliers to acquire cost and basic technical specifications to complete estimates.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's/4-year degree minimum required with major focusing on materials science, polymer science, coatings, or related discipline.
  • Experience: Experience in Rubber and Polyurethane preferred, but not required.
  • Skills: Must be detail oriented and technically sound with good communication skills. Ability to work on a team, work independently with little or no supervision, and problem solve efficiently.
  • Software: Advanced PC/MS Office skills and ability to read blueprints, CAD files, and STEP files.
  • Physical Demands: Normal office environment with regular exposure to noise, dust, office equipment, and supplies. Physical dexterity is needed to bend, stretch, lift, and reach.
