Fives DTS is seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to support our automation systems initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will:
1. Install automation systems at client sites, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
2. Provide on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services to enhance customer satisfaction.
3. Collaborate with the General Manager of Service and Aftermarket to manage project assignments and report on daily activities.
4. Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to debug, validate, and commission machinery.
5. Consult with internal teams and clients to clearly define project scopes.
6. Conduct testing and debugging of automation and electrical systems before delivery to clients.
7. Oversee the installation, startup, validation, and commissioning of systems at customer facilities.
8. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on existing equipment.
9. Analyze technical documentation, including drawings and manuals, to identify optimal solutions and necessary tools for system setup or troubleshooting.
10. Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and clients.
11. Maintain accurate records of service calls and prepare timely reports for clients and internal use.
12. Collaborate with the Documentation Department to ensure all technical documents are current and accurate.
13. Assist in the quotation and technical sales support for field service solutions.
Qualifications:
- 3-6 years of experience in control systems engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years in a customer-focused field service role.
- Strong understanding of motion control systems, including robotics and programming.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in using standard electronic testing equipment and automation PLC products such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Allen Bradley.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
