Position Summary:
The Healthcare Support Specialist is responsible for a blend of administrative and clinical responsibilities within our facility. This role involves collaboration with medical personnel under the guidance of a physician or Mid-Level Provider, as well as administrative oversight from the Clinic Manager and Director of Operations. The Healthcare Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and operate within the scope of practice for healthcare support roles.
- Manage patient flow in examination rooms, assist in scheduling, and communicate any delays effectively.
- Prepare for patient visits by reviewing medical histories and relevant test results. Maintain accurate patient records in clinic databases.
- Identify patients using two identifiers, conduct intake assessments, and assist providers during consultations.
- Support providers in medical procedures, ensuring necessary insurance authorizations are in place.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by supervising physicians and provide patient education.
- Conduct minor medical procedures and document them appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of medical assisting education or related training is highly preferred.
- Experience with electronic health record systems is advantageous.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is required.
Employment Conditions:
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.

Work Schedule:
- 8-hour shifts
- Monday to Friday
