Position Summary:
The Healthcare Support Specialist is responsible for a blend of administrative and clinical responsibilities within our facility. This role involves collaboration with medical personnel under the guidance of a physician or Mid-Level Provider, as well as administrative oversight from the Clinic Manager and Director of Operations. The Healthcare Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Understand and operate within the scope of practice for healthcare support roles.
  2. Manage patient flow in examination rooms, assist in scheduling, and communicate any delays effectively.
  3. Prepare for patient visits by reviewing medical histories and relevant test results. Maintain accurate patient records in clinic databases.
  4. Identify patients using two identifiers, conduct intake assessments, and assist providers during consultations.
  5. Support providers in medical procedures, ensuring necessary insurance authorizations are in place.
  6. Prepare and administer medications as directed by supervising physicians and provide patient education.
  7. Conduct minor medical procedures and document them appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Completion of medical assisting education or related training is highly preferred.
  2. Experience with electronic health record systems is advantageous.
  3. Prior experience in a healthcare setting is required.

Employment Conditions:

Work Schedule:

  • 8-hour shifts
