About the Opportunity

We invite applications from highly qualified candidates for an Academic General Internist position at Virginia Commonwealth University. Responsibilities will include providing direct clinical care to hospitalized patients, supervising and teaching housestaff and learners, participating in clinical and educational research, and working with institutional staff and administration to attain the strategic objectives of VCU Health System.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical care to hospitalized patients
  • Supervise and teach housestaff and learners in the resident outpatient practice
  • Participate in clinical and educational research, according to skills, interest, and funding
  • Work with institutional staff and administration to attain the strategic objectives of VCU Health System

Requirements

  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine
  • Direct experience managing complex inpatients
  • Interest in teaching and growth in an academic setting
  • Interest in furthering the academic mission of the Division

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $175,000 - $225,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
