Job Summary

Procom is seeking a detail-oriented Claims Assistant to support the administration of workers' compensation claims. As a key member of our team, you will perform clerical and data entry tasks, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up new claims in our system and prepare paper files, verifying documentation accuracy.
  • Assist in processing benefit and medical payments as directed by Claims Examiners.
  • Document all claim activity in our electronic system.
  • Prepare and print letters, benefit notices, and labels.
  • Provide clerical support, including filing, faxing, sorting, and photocopying.
  • Communicate relevant claim information to clients, legal counsel, medical providers, and internal staff.
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and respond as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in the workers' compensation claims industry (preferred).
  • Proficient typing skills (45 wpm).
  • Familiarity with medical and legal terminology.
  • Strong organizational skills (alphabetizing, collating).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from multiple sources.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Courteous telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.

Computer, telephone, 10-key, fax machine, printer, and other basic office equipment.
