We are seeking a detail-oriented Claims Assistant to support the administration of workers' compensation claims. As a key member of our team, you will perform clerical and data entry tasks, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.

### Key Responsibilities

* Set up new claims in our system and prepare paper files, ensuring documentation accuracy.
* Assist in processing benefit and medical payments as directed by Claims Examiners.
* Document all claim activity in our electronic system.
* Prepare and print letters, benefit notices, and labels.
* Provide clerical support, including filing, faxing, sorting, and photocopying.
* Communicate relevant claim information to clients, legal counsel, medical providers, and internal staff.
* Answer phone calls, take messages, and respond as needed.

### Equipment Operated

* Computer, telephone, 10-key, fax machine, printer, and other basic office equipment.

### Qualifications Required

* High school diploma or GED.
* 1 year of experience in the workers' compensation claims industry (preferred).

### Skills and Abilities

* Proficient typing skills (45 wpm).
* Familiarity with medical and legal terminology.
* Strong organizational skills (alphabetizing, collating).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from multiple sources.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
