Lead Engineer, Electrical Planning and Design

Job PurposeWe are hiring Lead Engineers to play pivotal roles across various departments, focusing on the planning, design, and management of electrical distribution and transmission systems. The positions encompass responsibilities ranging from asset management and system reliability to advanced engineering design and implementation of innovative technologies.
Key Accountabilities- Substation Standards: Prepare and contribute to the development of our Substation Engineering and Design philosophy, standards, guidelines, equipment specifications, and procedures.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to various departments, including Engineering, Design, Ops, Construction, and IT.
- Transmission Line Standards: Develop technical content and implementation of our Transmission Engineering and Design philosophy, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
- Distribution Planning & Asset Management: Assess the sub-transmission and Distribution system performance regarding capacity and reliability and develop modernization plans as needed.
- Substation Civil Engineering: Provide project, field, and real-time engineering for all civil/structural aspects of substation design and construction.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Civil/Structural, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
- Minimum 6 years (10+ years preferred) of relevant engineering experience, with specific experience in transmission, distribution, or substation engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of industry standards, safety standards, and current design codes, especially the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Willingness to travel for meetings, training, and conferences, including potential extended hours for emergencies or system events.
