Overview:

A leading entity in the sports sector is in search of a proficient Director of Technical Operations to spearhead a team responsible for the technical dimensions of live sports broadcasting. This position is fundamentally technical with managerial duties, necessitating an individual who can oversee and actively engage in back-end engineering tasks.

Core Responsibilities:

Team Management: Supervise and nurture a team comprising experts in audio, video, digital, and engineering disciplines. Offer mentorship and training to junior staff, promoting their professional development.

Technical Oversight: Directly manage and participate in back-end engineering processes, including fiber optics, cabling, camera operations, and broadcast center management. Proficiency in IP, wireless, and audio technologies is crucial.

Equipment Supervision: Employ industry-standard cameras and switchers, and oversee the video playback systems. Ensure all equipment operates at peak performance for live broadcasts.

Venue Expertise: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in outdoor venues, although indoor experience will also be considered.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in live sports broadcasting, television, or sports production is required.
  • Significant hands-on technical experience is necessary.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience is essential.
  • Ability to work on-site in New York is required.
