Clinical Nurse Specialist

The Clinical Nurse-Angio Specialty plays a vital role in our academic medical center, providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of our team, you will demonstrate advanced knowledge in invasive interventional procedures for patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scrubs, circulates, and/or assists physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures, including line placements, drain placements, biopsies, vascular stenting, and neurodiagnostic procedures.
- Performs the nursing process independently, serving as a role model in patient care delivery methods, problem-solving, documentation, and communication.
- Collaborates with leadership in the development of standards of practice and contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population.
- Associate of Science Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required for hires after July 1, 2019.
- Minimum one year experience in critical care, emergency department, cardiovascular lab, or interventional radiology required.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and confined spaces, with proficient competencies in critical care nursing and angio-interventional radiology procedures.
- Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation required, with the ability to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills.
- Able to speak, read, and write legibly in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality.
- Ability to use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position, including electronic medical records and event reporting programs.
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance required at time of hire.
- Active California RN License required.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required by end of introductory period.
