About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Alcon. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Assess and maintain inventory levels of raw material components to ensure that stock levels meet inventory targets and manufacturing requirements.
  • Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Purchase Order Management: Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Lead Time Negotiation: Negotiate lead times with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor and report key performance metrics, including inventory weeks of cover, material shortages, and supplier performance.
  • Market Forecasting: Analyze market forecasts and evaluate build signals to ensure that manufacturing work orders are built at the material level.
  • ERP System Management: Use the ERP system to open and convert manufacturing work orders, supervise work order progress, and plant FGI inventory levels to ensure market forecast will be met.
  • Warehouse Management: Ensure that warehouse inventory levels meet market forecast, maintain safety stock levels, and prevent back-orders.
  • Documentation: Ensure that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate, including SOPs and other supporting documents.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
  • Language: The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week: Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM EST - 5:00 PM EST
  • Relocation: Relocation & Sponsorship Not Available
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient Knowledge: Proficient Knowledge of Excel Based Systems
  • SAP Experience: SAP Experience
