Job Title: General Manager

U-Haul is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead one of our moving and storage centers. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for driving business growth, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment.
  • Perform profit/loss analyses to drive business growth.
  • Hire and mentor new team members to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Track and itemize inventory to maintain accurate records.
  • Manage the personnel budget to ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Ensure customers receive the highest quality of care and service.
  • Clean and monitor the premises to maintain a secure environment.
  • Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
  • Computer expertise to manage inventory, track finances, and maintain accurate records.
  • Organizational expertise to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays.
Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritating chemicals.

May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
