About the Role:

The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for reviewing and executing third-party agreements, managing company intellectual property, ensuring compliance with consumer protection laws, and identifying regulatory and compliance schemes impacting new technology and e-commerce products.

This role will act as the primary lawyer for certain teams and cross-functional projects, coordinating with key stakeholders as needed.

The Associate General Counsel will advise on legal and regulatory risks of business initiatives and decisions, helping to craft pragmatic solutions that mitigate risk and support growth.

They will work closely with the Compliance Team to maintain a current understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape, including supporting and maintaining legal and regulatory obligations as they apply to the business.

This role will also advise on legal and regulatory elements of product and service design, build, and execution, as well as develop a strategy for engaging with external collaborators.

The Associate General Counsel will manage the day-to-day legal operations, including the contract lifecycle, and anticipate needs to proactively solve problems and resolve potential areas of conflict.

They will identify trends and propose scalable solutions and processes to support growth goals.

This role requires a strong understanding of commercial transactions, including partnership and marketing agreements.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of in-house experience and 5+ years of experience in a firm, with a J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in any of the 50 states.

They will be able to effectively lead through ambiguity and drive outcomes, influence large cross-functional teams, and strive for continuous improvement using problem-solving skills.

The Associate General Counsel will have outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including confidence in advising executives and the ability to read audiences and adjust messaging accordingly.

They will cultivate a culture of inclusion and trust.

Compensation:
$130,000 - $150,000

Discretionary Annual Bonus Eligibility:
Up to 15%
