Job Summary:
Sun Holdings is a leading franchise organization in the U.S. and one of the largest minority-owned organizations based in Dallas, TX. We employ 30,000 team members and own and operate over 1,200 restaurant and retail locations across 27 states with popular U.S. brands including Applebee's, Arby's, Burger King, Freebirds, Golden Corral, GNC, IHOP, McAlister's, Papa John's, Popeye's, Taco Bueno, and restaurants in DFW and Georgia airports.

We are seeking a Corporate Controller to oversee and drive financial and operational performance, ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting, and implement effective internal controls.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and the full cycle monthly close process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to provide insightful financial analysis to support senior management in decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts.

• Manage the prompt and accurate preparation of periodic financial reports and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.

• Lead and manage the budgeting process and provide strategic financial analysis and business consulting to operations management.

• Effectively utilize business analysis tools for projects such as cost of sales improvement, return on investment capital, new business opportunities, and third-party business risk analysis.

• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with generally accepted policies and procedures.

• Ensure sales tax returns are filed by due date after review and verification and maintain compliance with all taxing authorities.

• Financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process.

• Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.

• Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.

Requirements and Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred.

• Proven success as Controller or similar role in the restaurant industry, preferably for a corporate or franchise leader in Mexican cuisine.

• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation.

• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills.

• Must have the ability to independently complete multiple complex and challenging financial functions on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
