Position Overview:

This role is a fully remote contract opportunity, offering a 40-hour work week. The Mechanical Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in the mechanical systems division, focusing on the design and technical requirements of plant mechanical systems within power generation facilities.


Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Generating engineering reports and system requirement documents in line with established procedures and project-specific guidelines.
  • Preparing and reviewing engineering specifications and documentation that detail the design requirements for components and systems related to balance of plant systems.
  • Leading technical efforts for various mechanical systems and addressing design partner technical inquiries.
  • Collaborating effectively within a team to plan and execute complex assignments.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution is required. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience is essential, with demonstrated knowledge in fluid system design, particularly within the nuclear sector.

Industry Compliance: Must be eligible to work under applicable Department of Energy regulations.


Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role require the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to operate standard office equipment. The role may involve occasional travel as needed.
