Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the area of specialty, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
- Assist Interventional Radiologists with daily procedures and implement physician orders.
- Perform nursing assessments at the time of procedures or within one week of start of the procedure, including medication reconciliation.
- Obtain medical history, assess patients for special needs, and plan appropriate care and recovery.
- Educate patients, their families, and healthcare providers on procedures, treatments, side effects, and symptom management.
- Perform direct patient care as needed, including adjusting and activating equipment, connecting patients to monitoring devices, and administering medication as ordered by the MD.
- Document all assessments and clinical care provided, referrals for services, communication with other departments or physician offices, and administration of medications in the medical record.
- Maintain liaison with other disciplines, such as nutritional support, speech therapy, social work, navigators, social services, inpatient staff, and office staff.
- Present a positive professional image by exhibiting good patient experience skills, positive communication skills, professional behavior, and appearance.
- Assist the Radiologists, Front Desk Staff, and Radiologic Technologists with scheduling and workflow management to ensure patient safety and efficient workflows.
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position, including management of supplies in exam rooms and equipment.
- Associate Degree or higher.
- Minimum Experience: three years.
- Current Registered Nurse License.
- CPR certified.
- Desired: Experience in an IR or Cath Lab environment.
This role requires manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. There is some occupational risk, and the physical effort is very heavy, requiring exertion of up to 50 pounds of force. The physical environment is generally pleasant.
