Position Overview
The Emergency Medical Technician Instructor is responsible for educating, training, and developing students enrolled in Emergency Medical Technician courses. This role encompasses various instructional activities, including lectures, laboratory sessions, clinical training, performance assessments, and student evaluations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the lead instructor in delivering course content and provide assistance during lab sessions.
  • Maintain attendance records and adhere to the syllabus and training plans established by the program coordinators.
  • Ensure the EMS Program's Learning Management System (LMS) is updated in collaboration with the Training Coordinator.
  • Conduct timely evaluations of students as required by the program and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all instructional spaces and equipment.
  • Maximize instructional time by effectively managing the class duration.
  • Comply with all institutional policies and regulations set forth by the program administration.
  • Engage in staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as necessary.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of an Associate's degree from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Possession of a Florida Level A EMS Instructor Certificate.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in an Advanced Life Support (ALS) service.
  • All EMS instructors must obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor credentials, along with NAEMT instructor certification in PHTLS and AMLS within six months of employment.
  • Instructors must meet the requirements outlined by the Florida Department of Health for Emergency Medical Services.
  • For First Responder or EMT Training Programs, certification as a Florida Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, paramedic, or licensed Registered Nurse in good standing is required, along with three years of field experience.
  • For Paramedic Training Programs, certification as a Florida paramedic or a licensed Registered Nurse in good standing is required, along with three years of field experience.
