Job Overview:

The Controller plays a pivotal role in managing the financial functions of the organization, which includes the preparation of financial reports, budget management, forecasting, and establishing internal controls. This position demands a strategic mindset to ensure financial integrity, adherence to regulations, and to actively contribute to the financial direction of the company.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Generate and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Spearhead the annual budgeting process and provide continuous financial forecasts, analyzing discrepancies between actual performance and budgeted figures.
  • Internal Controls: Design and implement effective internal controls to protect company assets and guarantee precise financial reporting.
  • Compliance: Maintain compliance with all financial regulations and reporting obligations, including tax submissions and audits.
  • Cash Management: Supervise cash flow management, including forecasting, investment strategies, and banking relationships.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, offering guidance on technical accounting matters and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analyses to inform business decisions, including cost and profitability assessments, as well as financial modeling.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for enhancing processes within the finance department and adopt best practices.
  • Audit Coordination: Act as the primary liaison for external auditors and oversee the audit process, ensuring timely and accurate results.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management on financial strategies, long-term planning, and growth initiatives.


Qualifications:
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required. CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3-5 years in a leadership capacity, such as Controller or Assistant Controller.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and cultivate a high-performing accounting team.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Certifications: CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.


Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with ERP systems implementation or upgrades.
  • Familiarity with multi-entity or global operations.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions or the integration of acquired entities.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.


Working Conditions:
  • This position typically operates in an office environment, with standard working hours. Some travel may be necessary based on company operations.
