About the Role

nVent is seeking a highly skilled Field Application Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in advancing our success and your own career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Domain Authority: Serve as a subject matter expert for nVent Data Solutions products, providing technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Product Support: Offer first-line assistance to customers and colleagues on nVent Cooling and Power products and services, ensuring timely and effective resolution of technical inquiries.
  • Quote and Proposal Development: Evaluate customer RFQs, build costing and quotes with technical and commercial content, and prepare compliance documents against customer specifications.
  • Training and Development: Conduct product training for customers and train distributors on quoting tools, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge to effectively utilize our products.
  • Project Leadership: Lead strategic projects for product improvements, cost reduction, product consolidation, and new product development, driving innovation and growth within the organization.
  • Industry Representation: Represent nVent in industry codes and standards committees, ensuring our voice is heard and our interests are represented.
  • Market Intelligence: Provide market-specific intelligence and feedback on products and services to commercial teams, assisting them in making informed decisions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Sales Leader to plan activities, identify project opportunities, and provide vital technical support to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in electrical, mechanical, or applications engineering or equivalent work experience in Data Center engineering.
  • Experience: Ideally 5+ years of experience in a technical applications role supporting Data Center solutions.
  • Skills: Strong technical background with Data Center Power needs at the rack or PDU level, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a customer-first mentality.
  • Travel: Ability to work 100% remotely and travel on average 30% across mainly the US and Canada.
