Location: U-Haul is seeking a dedicated, proactive, and insightful individual to oversee one of our moving and storage facilities. As an Operations Manager in Training, you will play a crucial role in ensuring your center operates profitably and efficiently by recruiting skilled personnel, monitoring inventory levels, and managing equipment effectively.
This position involves addressing challenges as they arise. The role of managing a U-Haul moving and storage facility is dynamic, fast-paced, and fulfilling.
Our motto is: Hire Fast, Pay Fast. You can start today and receive immediate compensation for your efforts. Schedule a hands-on working interview and get paid for it. Additionally, we offer a $100 hiring bonus. Furthermore, upon successful completion of U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through our 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail locations, you will receive a $300 cash bonus.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the fleet to ensure clean and well-maintained equipment.
- Conduct profit/loss analyses.
- Recruit and mentor new team members.
- Monitor and itemize inventory.
- Manage the personnel budget.
- Ensure that customers receive the highest quality of service.
- Keep track of fuel receipts and petty cash.
- Maintain cleanliness and security of the premises.
- Engage in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of management experience in retail or a service-oriented industry with accountability for financial results and customer satisfaction.
- Proficient in computer skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Management experience in high-volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Able to work weekends and holidays.
Work Environment:
The role involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. Protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields may be necessary.
Physical Demands:
This position requires some physical exertion, including long periods of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs, with or without assistance.
