RN Clinical Documentation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled RN Clinical Documentation Specialist to join our team at Ochsner Health. This role will be responsible for reviewing medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness, identifying opportunities for improvement, and collaborating with providers to enhance clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough reviews of medical records to ensure compliance with clinical documentation program requirements
- Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with providers to enhance documentation
- Communicate with providers, case managers, and coders to facilitate comprehensive medical record documentation
- Act as a consultant to coders to ensure accurate DRG assignment
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance clinical documentation and patient care
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 3 years of clinical experience working with minimal supervision
- Current registered nurse license in the state of practice
- Strong clinical expertise and knowledge of complex disease processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
This role will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent interactions with patients, providers, and other healthcare team members. The incumbent will be required to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
