Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Wooster Community Hospital. As a key member of our sterile processing department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Decontamination and Cleaning: Decontaminate, clean, and process medical equipment and supplies to ensure they are free from any potential contaminants.
  • Sterilization and Storage: Sterilize and store medical equipment and supplies in a manner that meets or exceeds industry standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels of medical equipment and supplies, and ensure that all items are properly labeled and stored.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all medical equipment and supplies meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with healthcare staff to ensure that medical equipment and supplies are delivered to the correct departments in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Certification: Possess a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification or be willing to obtain one within a year of employment.
  • Experience: Have at least 1 year of experience in a central service or related healthcare field.
  • Skills: Possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Attributes
  • Endoscopy Experience: Have experience working in an endoscopy suite and reprocessing endoscopes.
  • Supply Chain Management: Have experience managing medical supplies and equipment.
