What’s the Role?

In this position, you will have the chance to collaborate with a passionate team aimed at developing an educational platform that empowers students worldwide in their academic journeys.

ConnectPrep seeks a skilled programmer to lead our development team in creating our analytics software and the next generation of iOS educational games.

  • Engage in problem-solving and develop metrics modeling while actively collaborating with the team.
  • Construct our complete backend and API.
  • Design and implement game mechanics while adhering to sound software engineering principles.
  • Support a comprehensive web stack.
  • Utilize user feedback and metrics to deliver iterative software features.
  • Design levels, narratives, and core gameplay elements.
  • Provide technical insights and guidance to management and graphic designers regarding screen layouts and design.
  • Develop tools for graphics implementation.
  • Collaborate with the team to create an entire game.
  • Introduce innovative UI designs and concepts for our gaming platform.
  • Translate design mockups into functional code.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field such as Applied Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering.
  • Experience with modern MVC frameworks, such as ASP.NET MVC or Ruby on Rails.
  • A passion for front-end development using frameworks like Bootstrap, Backbone, Ember, or AngularJS.
  • Familiarity with MySQL or similar relational databases like PostgreSQL.
  • At least 2 years of experience in designing multiplayer games or in software engineering.
  • A strong interest in gaming and a desire to push the boundaries of technology.
  • Solid mathematical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in data structures and algorithms.
  • Knowledge of MySQL, TCP/IP, HTTP, and Unix.
  • Experience in building backend architectures using languages such as Python and PHP.
  • Proficiency in Objective-C and Cocoa for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch development.
  • Background in mobile analytics.
  • Experience in writing and maintaining code in languages such as C, C++, PHP, Python, AS3, Perl, etc.
  • Strong skills in Flash, WordPress, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
  • In-depth knowledge of HTML5, Oracle, and Ruby on Rails.
  • Acute attention to detail and a passion for developing high-quality web applications.
