Job Title: Coordinator of New Student Programs

Join the team at Louisiana State University of Alexandria as a Coordinator of New Student Programs. This role is responsible for coordinating all programming and events executed by the Office of First Year Experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of New Student Orientation and Parent & Family Orientation.
  • Work collaboratively with campus partners to plan and implement targeted programming for first-year students.
  • Correspond with new students prior to and throughout their first academic year.
  • Provide one-on-one support to high school students in their transition to LSUA.
  • Maintain the point of entry to the office for the Office of First Year Experience.
  • Assist with the gathering and organizing of assessment data.
  • Maintain records and inventory.
  • Assist with purchasing.
  • Manage daily/weekly/monthly agendas and arrange new meetings and appointments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Understanding of the principles of college student development and the policies and structure of a four-year, public university.
  • Strong skills in problem solving, organization and planning, managing multiple priorities and constituents, and communication.
  • Experience in higher education programming.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to perform event set-up and take-down including small furniture arrangement and material transport.
  • Ability to independently analyze data and make decisions.
  • Ability to multi-task while remaining organized.
  • Clear driving record with a Louisiana driver's license.
