Job Summary

We are seeking an Entry-Level Child Development Specialist to join our team.

This role will involve working directly with children on the autism spectrum in a 1:1 setting, teaching new skills and ensuring their comprehensive growth.

You will engage children in play-based routines, transforming everyday moments into opportunities for teaching and nurturing essential life skills.

You will also collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to design and implement individualized developmental plans, upholding the principles of the Early Start Denver Model and maintaining fidelity to Soar's model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary child caregiver, being directly responsible for teaching new skills to the child in a 1:1 setting.
  • Engage the child in a play-based routine, transforming everyday child care moments into opportunities for teaching and nurturing essential life skills.
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to design and implement individualized developmental plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families, offering regular insights on their child's progress and providing guidance rooted in best child care practices.

Requirements

  • Genuine interest and prior experience in child care roles such as daycare, nannying, or similar positions, or similar or related educational experiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for building connections with young children and their families.
  • Works effectively on a team.
  • Must have reliable transportation to both training location and local center. Punctuality is essential.
  • Must be able to meet the following physical requirements: sit and stand frequently, shift positions quickly, lift up to 50 lbs., sit/kneel on the floor for extended periods of time, sit in a chair, stand, walk, and occasionally run short distances to catch up with a client.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $20.50 - $26.00 per hour with regular bonus and promotion opportunities.

All staff members are considered every 3 months for a raise or promotion.
