Job Summary:

The Patient Care Associate will assist with direct patient care needs, foster a healing environment, and contribute to the plan of care through ongoing communication with the RN. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to lift and transport patients safely, and a commitment to providing compassionate care.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, bathing, toileting, dressing, and mobility
  • Set up food trays and assist patients with meals as needed
  • Perform preventative skin care and assist patients with positioning, turning, and mobilization
  • Apply and remove pneumatic sequential compression sleeves
  • Adhere to standard precautions and hand hygiene guidelines
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes, patient transportation, and orienting patients and families to the surroundings
  • Ensure safekeeping of patient valuables and check patients for ID bands
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Six months of experience as a Nursing Assistant or completion of a formal nursing program with clinical rotations
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant is preferred
  • Ability to lift and transport patients safely, according to Safe Patient Handling Guidelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital personnel
