About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounting and Financial Intern. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting and financial activities, working closely with our experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Verify and reconcile financial data, including books and bank statements.
  • Develop and maintain monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects.
  • Assist operations personnel and cost coordinators with financial analysis and reporting.
  • Review and interpret financial reporting requirements, rules, and regulations.
  • Assist in analyzing financial operations and recommending enhancements to policies or procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Full-time student currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university majoring in an appropriate Accounting/Finance discipline or closely related field.
  • Recent college graduate having graduated within 12 months prior to internship start date with a degree in Accounting/Finance or closely related field.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Possesses strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational skills, and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate our core values of honesty, fairness, respect, trust, and integrity.
Working Conditions

This is a temporary full-time paid position that usually runs from May through August. Interns will be expected to work in a collaborative environment, with opportunities to work virtually and in-person at our NOLA Collaboration Hub. Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing, or plant environment.

Compensation

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $20.00-$24.50/hour. Individual pay rates will be based on level of education and relevant experience.
