Job Title: Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at ChenMed. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Measure and record patient vital signs, medical history, and interview information.
  • Communicate patient needs to physicians, clinicians, and other clinical personnel.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, perform routine screening tests, and assist physicians with exams.
  • Observe patients and report any changes in patient conditions to the healthcare team.
  • Perform non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures under physician supervision.
  • Collect phlebotomy and lab specimens, perform basic waived lab tests, and administer medications.
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, and sterilize instruments while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
  • Process patient phone messages, return calls, and route them to other team members as necessary.
  • Call in prescriptions to the pharmacy upon physician approval and authorization.
  • Provide health coaching to patients to support healthy lifestyle choices and follow up with coached patients via weekly calls.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare vocational training required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or similar in a hospital, medical clinic, or comparable environment required.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
  • Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.
  • EMR system experience preferred.
