Join The Washington Ballet as a Part-Time Faculty NW Campus Lower Division Instructor and contribute to the growth and development of young dancers.

Job Summary

The Washington Ballet seeks a qualified and experienced ballet technique teacher to instruct children ages 4 to 12 in Pre-Ballet and Lower Division levels. The ideal candidate will possess strong classical ballet knowledge, excellent teaching skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach ballet classes in Pre-Ballet Levels 1-3 and Lower Division Levels 1-3
  • Assist in choreography for Pre-Ballet 2 & 3 Classes
  • Participate in presentations and Spring Performance for Level 1A-3
  • Write evaluations for each student in Levels 1-3
  • Support the philosophy and mission of The Washington Ballet and The Washington School of Ballet

Requirements

  • Teaching or professional experience in a nationally recognized company and/or school is preferred
  • Experience teaching and choreographing for young children is essential
  • Strong classical ballet knowledge and ability to communicate with pianists
  • Excellent organizational skills, good collaborator, and self-starter
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
