Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Team Member to join our team at Amfine Chemical Corporation. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our packaging and material handling processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bolts or clamps screens of specified mesh to frames.
  • Pours or shovels specified quantities of material into hoppers or onto feed conveyor of machines.
  • Positions take-off conveyor, bins, or drums under screens to receive sifted material.
  • Tends machines that segregate particles of dry materials into batches of uniform size by sifting through one or more oscillating screens.
  • Measures or weighs and maintains records of material sifted or packaged.
  • Studies production orders to ascertain type and quantity of product, containers to be used, and other packaging requirements.
  • Inspects products prior to packaging and returns rejected products to production departments.
  • Conducts packaging operations and inspects containers to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Requisitions containers and other supplies for delivery to work stations.
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and performs setup and adjustments of machines.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of manufacturing team.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and hazardous chemicals.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of manufacturing team.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities

Ability to speak fluent English.

Working Knowledge of ISO 9000 & 14000.

Working knowledge of OSHA & EPA Regulations.

The ability to get along with others.

The ability to concentrate for extended periods.

Possess a current driver's license.

As required must be able to attend training in Japan.
