Position Overview:

As an Operating Room Scheduler within the Surgical Services department, you will play a crucial role in managing the scheduling operations at the O.R. control desk or scheduler's office. Utilizing a computerized system, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a 48-hour draft of the operating room schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of scheduling tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Independently adjust and move surgical cases to fill vacant slots.
  • Address and resolve scheduling conflicts among various surgical specialties.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • Preferred: Advanced education or a college degree.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Effective communication skills are essential; proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.
  • Proficient computer skills are necessary.
  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology and data entry software, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
  • Strong time management skills are required, along with successful completion of a training period to understand policies related to job duties and patient care.
