Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapy Supervisor to join our team at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). As a key member of our Respiratory Services department, you will be responsible for supervising a team of respiratory therapists and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Supervision: Provide guidance and oversight to direct reports, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to perform their duties effectively.
  • Human Resources Management: Manage the performance of direct reports, providing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Department Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the Respiratory Services department, ensuring efficient workflows, effective scheduling, and high patient satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Care
  • 2 years of previous Respiratory Care lead/charge or supervisor experience
  • Skilled in organizational behavior
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to work as a team member in an interdisciplinary setting
  • Effective communication in verbal, written, and electronic media
  • Computer and word processing skills
  • Valid Oregon Respiratory Therapist License
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, depending on the specific requirements of the role
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care, Healthcare Administration, or core science (chemistry, biology, etc.)
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build teams and integrate existing teams
  • Database queries and reporting, data analysis, Lean methodologies
  • Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) or Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) credential, depending on the specific requirements of the role
