Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapy Supervisor to join our team at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). As a key member of our Respiratory Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our respiratory care team, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Supervision: Provide guidance and oversight to direct reports, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to excel in their roles.
  • Human Resources Management: Manage the performance of direct reports, providing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Department Operations: Oversee the daily flow of work, scheduling, and assigning tasks as needed to ensure efficient and effective department operations.
  • Patient Satisfaction: Monitor patient satisfaction and performance indicators to ensure our department is meeting its goals and providing exceptional care.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Care.
  • 2 years of previous Respiratory Care lead/charge or supervisor experience.
  • Skilled in organizational behavior.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Effective communication in verbal, written, and electronic media.
  • Computer and word processing skills.
  • Valid Oregon Respiratory Therapist License.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care, Healthcare Administration, or core science (chemistry, biology, etc.).
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Database queries and reporting, data analysis, Lean methodologies.
