About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our team at Oakmont Senior Living. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the general operations of the maintenance department and housekeeping department to ensure that the property is maintained in a safe, clean, and comfortable manner.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Plan, organize, develop, and direct the general operating maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the physical plant, including electrical, plumbing, and structural matters.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Demonstrate mechanical ability and/or capability of self-teaching to work on equipment such as washer/extractors and dryers, refrigeration and heating units, ice machines, and minor electrical difficulties.
  • Electrical Duties: Troubleshoot, identify problems, and obtain materials to fully repair electrical difficulties, including wall switches, interior/exterior lighting, cover plates, receptacles, loose wiring, resident call systems, control devices, laundry, and kitchen equipment.
  • Structural Duties: Plan, order, and install cabinets for remodeling of apartments, perform carpentry duties such as repairing or replacing sheetrock, plywood, and/or structural materials.
  • Painting Duties: Plan, order, and perform painting requirements (interior/exterior) of the entire complex, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal EPA guidelines.
  • Plumbing Duties: Plan, order, and perform minor plumbing problems, including repairing faucets, showers, drains, and any other type of plumbing-related problem.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Conduct daily inspection of the property's outside grounds, immediately correcting any needed items to ensure the property is always tour-ready.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Two (2) years experience in the building industry, maintenance and/or housekeeping handling the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and structural matters. Knowledge of building construction is helpful.
  • Supervisory Experience: One (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees.
  • Skills: Able to safely operate a wide variety of equipment and tools, knowledge of and/or ability to learn the theory and practice of assisted living and dementia care.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Able to work with seniors and patiently interact with cognitively impaired individuals.
  • Adaptability: Able to be flexible, adapt and respond to change, make decisions in stressful situations, and prioritize tasks and projects.
  • Certifications: Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
