The Airport Security Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the security credentialing program and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This position is entrusted with sensitive security information and requires strong leadership skills to effectively manage a diverse team. The supervisor must demonstrate independent judgment and initiative while fostering positive relationships with stakeholders and the public.

Supervision and Responsibilities

This role operates under general supervision, with the potential for independent work or collaboration with other staff members. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Overseeing daily operations of the Security Credentialing Office and managing staff performance.
  2. Establishing and enforcing security protocols to ensure compliance with TSA regulations.
  3. Conducting audits and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  4. Reviewing criminal history checks and security assessments to determine eligibility for access to secured areas.
  5. Building and maintaining relationships with various agencies and stakeholders to enhance security operations.
  6. Monitoring and addressing inquiries related to credential applications, ensuring high levels of customer service.
  7. Maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  8. Coordinating security meetings and developing educational materials to promote security awareness.
  9. Assisting in security investigations as needed.

Decision-Making and Leadership

The supervisor follows established procedures while also having the authority to modify them based on situational needs. This role serves as a mentor and technical resource for other employees, providing guidance and support to less experienced staff.
