About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Manager of Autonomous Systems - Flight Operations to join our team. As a key member of our Flight Operations team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of autonomous systems for our spacecraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of autonomous systems for our spacecraft, including the design, testing, and validation of these systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and program management, to ensure that autonomous systems are integrated into our spacecraft and meet our mission requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including NASA and our National Team Partners, to ensure that our autonomous systems meet their requirements and expectations.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to develop and implement autonomous systems.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure that autonomous systems are properly tested, validated, and maintained.
  • Collaborate with our Systems Engineering team to ensure that autonomous systems are properly integrated into our spacecraft and meet our mission requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, test plans, and validation reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the development and implementation of autonomous systems for spacecraft.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with programming languages, such as C++ and Python, and experience with software development tools, such as Git and Jenkins.
  • Experience with spacecraft systems, including propulsion, power, and communication systems.
  • Experience with testing and validation of autonomous systems, including experience with simulation tools and testing facilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including experience with presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with project management tools, such as Asana and Trello.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as aerospace engineering or computer science.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
  • Experience with spacecraft operations, including experience with launch and deployment operations.
  • Experience with autonomous systems for other types of vehicles, such as drones or robots.
