Position Overview

The individual will operate under the guidance of the Project Manager and/or Supervisor to uphold cleanliness standards within designated areas. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness of linens, hard surfaces, and carpets, as well as managing bio-hazard waste disposal. Proficiency in using cleaning agents, tools, and equipment is essential.

*Note: This role is dependent on contract approval. Responses to applicants will occur only when necessary.

The compensation for this role ranges from $17.58 to $20.00 per hour, plus an additional $4.57 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage waste disposal and sanitation of containers.
  • Handle soiled linens appropriately.
  • Ensure cleanliness of patient care and examination areas according to the daily schedule.
  • Maintain cleanliness in office and communal spaces as per the daily plan.
  • Responsible for bio-hazardous waste removal during each shift.
  • Respond to overhead paging and radio communications.
  • Execute scheduled floor care tasks.
  • Conduct thorough dusting of assigned areas, including vents, lighting fixtures, desks, and furniture.
  • Clean entryways and walkways, as well as exterior signage.
  • Complete weekly maintenance checklists and submit them to the supervisor.
  • Report any damaged items or equipment for repair.
  • Distribute linens as required.
  • Handle confidential materials with discretion.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Adhere to work schedules and company policies.
  • Follow established safety protocols for handling hazardous materials.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Supervisory Role

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • At least 3 months of relevant experience in housekeeping or sanitation.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance.
  • Familiarity with janitorial practices, tools, and safety precautions.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience with Alaska Native cultures.
