Senior Custodian

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Custodian to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our residence halls and other campus facilities.
Responsibilities- Perform skilled and semi-skilled cleaning, housekeeping, and/or general maintenance duties to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities.
- Operate pressure washers, carpet extraction machines, and other equipment to maintain the facilities.
- Assignments may include residence halls, apartments, common areas, and exterior locations.
- Responsible for the setup and take down of special equipment and furniture.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English to directly communicate with staff and students.
- Responsible for security and maintenance of master keys and assigned equipment.
- Required to drive a motorized cart and University vehicle to complete job duties.
- Ability to follow, model, and promote conduct that adheres to the University of California Principles of Community.
- Skill to operate pressure washers, vacuum cleaners, buffers, wet/dry vacs, carpet shampooers, and other floor care equipment.
- Ability to sweep, dust mop, polish, and perform semi-skilled housekeeping and general maintenance duties.
- Ability to read and write English to submit written reports and work orders.
- Required to operate a motor vehicle.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to work as part of a team and serve as the work leader for a small group of custodians, temporary staff, or student staff.
- Custodial or related cleaning experience.
- Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing for purpose of instruction and record keeping.
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
- Must be able to pass background check.
- Must be willing and able to respond to after-hours emergencies.
- Must be willing and able to assist in the event of a disaster.
- Must be able to lift and carry loads over 50 lbs.
- Background Check and Live Scan.
