Role Summary:
The Eligibility Specialist will be responsible for conducting screenings and intakes for clients, as well as providing administrative support for programs aimed at preventing homelessness among veterans.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as the primary contact for veterans seeking housing assistance.
2. Manage the intake line, addressing inquiries from veterans and directing them to appropriate resources.
3. Conduct prescreening assessments to determine eligibility for programs and connect ineligible clients with alternative community resources.
4. Ensure timely follow-up on client inquiries and voicemails.
5. Clearly communicate program details to potential clients and the broader community.
6. Document prescreening results accurately in the designated management system.
7. Collect necessary documentation from veterans and perform eligibility assessments in accordance with grant guidelines.
8. Organize intake appointments and prepare relevant materials for the office.
9. Stay informed about additional resources available to veterans.
10. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of program guidelines related to veteran homelessness.

Working Environment:
This position is based in a standard office setting, with occasional requirements for after-hours or weekend work, as well as travel within the service area.

Compensation:
The pay rate for this position is $21.15 per hour.

Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport with clients facing homelessness.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and client management systems.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Background checks including criminal record, drug screening, and TB testing are mandatory.
- A bachelor's degree in social work or a related field is preferred.
- Military experience is a plus.
