Job Title: Construction Management Engineer/Engineering Associate

Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts invites applications for the position of Construction Management Engineer/Engineering Associate. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction contracts, overseeing construction activities, investigating and resolving construction and engineering problems, and reviewing and negotiating contractors' extra work claims and change proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction contracts and oversee construction activities
  • Investigate and resolve construction and engineering problems
  • Review and negotiate contractors' extra work claims and change proposals
  • Review construction project schedules and track work progress
  • Prepare pay estimates and evaluate the impact of project progress on Districts' operations
  • Coordinate with other Districts' departments and agencies as needed
  • Prepare project monthly progress reports

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a pertinent engineering discipline or related science
  • Master's degree in a pertinent engineering discipline or related science
  • Engineer-In-Training Certificate
  • Professional Engineer registration in the State of California
  • Three years of professional engineering experience

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of experience in construction management
  • Master's degree in a pertinent engineering field
  • Certified Associate Construction Manager and/or Certified Construction Manager certification
