Job Summary

The University of Findlay seeks a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Vice President for Advancement to lead our development efforts. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position that requires a strong background in fundraising, strategic planning, and team management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure major gifts, annual funds, and other sources of support.
  • Manage and evaluate a team of fund-raising staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President for University Advancement to design and implement a marketing and outreach strategy to engage alumni, parents, and friends of the institution.
  • Work closely with academic deans and their advisory boards to identify and recruit volunteer campaign leaders.
  • Develop and implement a moves management system to strategically move prospective donors through the development process.
  • Oversee the development of campaign materials, including written solicitation proposals and other communications.
  • Attend on- and off-campus events to steward current donors, cultivate prospective donors, and increase contacts with alumni and friends of the institution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and significant professional experience in fundraising, corporate development, or related sales.
  • Five years of experience in academic fundraising, corporate fundraising, or related sales, preferably with a focus on major gifts and campaign management.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
Work Environment

This is a full-time, 12-month position with general hours of work and days from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Travel is required, with a valid US driver's license and a safe driving record.
