Job Summary

The University of Findlay is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Vice President for Advancement and Development to join our team. This is a full-time, 12-month exempt position that reports directly to the Vice President for University Advancement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive, forward-looking strategy for the development office, inclusive of goals, objectives, and measurable outcomes for a five and ten-year period.
  • Internal Management: Hire, provide guidance to, and evaluate members of the fund-raising staff in consultation with the VP. Coordinate the identification, screening, and rating of prospective donors. Assist prospect research staff members in creating systems that accurately reflect the financial capability of a prospect, as well as a prospect's affinity for the institution.
  • External Relations: Oversee a portfolio of major gift prospects, meeting and communicating regularly to ensure their movement to solicitation readiness. Design individual prospect strategies to move major gift prospects swiftly through the development process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Significant professional experience within a corporate environment is required
  • Five years of professional experience, preferably in academic fundraising, corporate fundraising, or related sales or equivalent position
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree
Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Travel

A valid US Drivers' license with a safe driving record is required, and the energy and ability to travel 8-10 days a month. Some evening and weekend work, and some overnight travel are expectations of this position.
